Professor Uwe Nixdorff is a leading internist, cardiologist, and sports medicine specialist, renowned for his contributions to preventive cardiology. As the Founder of the European Prevention Center (EPC), he has pioneered clinical algorithms for early disease detection and prevention, integrating advanced imaging techniques into cardiovascular diagnostics and preventive medicine.
With a background in echocardiographic research, Prof. Nixdorff played a key role in developing stress echocardiography and tissue Doppler echocardiography in the 1990s, forming the basis of his post-doctoral thesis at Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz. As a senior physician at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU), he expanded his research to magnetic resonance and computed tomography, strengthening his focus on chronic coronary syndrome and myocardial infarction studies.
