Dr. Martin Kramar is a psychologist, and has practiced in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. He uses a broad spectrum of approaches in diagnosing and treating patients who may have a variety of psychological issues. Since establishing his Dubai consultancy thirteen years ago, his experiences confirm that the best way to diagnose and treat patients is by combining modern science and traditional holistic methods. In his psychotherapy services, he uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy consultation. In additional treatments, he may use Heart Rate Variability (HRV) Biofeedback, a method that is a hybrid of scientific and holistic medicine.
Dr. Kramar completed his studies in the United States over a period of 11 years. This included undergraduate, Masters, and Doctoral degrees. His Ph.D. in General Psychology was received from California’s North Central University after earning his master’s degree in Holistic Psychology at Virginia’s Atlantic University. His studies gave him a complete psychotherapy background that includes holistic and mindfulness modalities. These compliment his scientific outlook on psycho-physiological diagnoses aided through Heart Rate Variability measurements, with a focus on stress-related and anxiety-related disorders, panic attacks, and heart palpitations.
Regionally, Dr. Kramar has held a professional psychologist license issued by Dubai Healthcare City Licensing Board since 2010. Since 2011 till 2021, he was a psychology lecturer at Middlesex University London-Dubai campus and currently, he teaches at Canadian University in Dubai.
In addition to his other accreditation, Dr. Kramar is certified as a Counselling Psychologist by HCPC UK, Health Psychologist by Dubai Health Authority, a board-certified Sport Psychologist with New York’s American Board of Sport Psychology and a board-certified HRV Biofeedback Therapist, through the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance of Colorado, USA.
The primary focuses in his practice are stress-related and anxiety-related disorders, which include ADHD, ADD, and OCD, depression, panic attacks, and post-traumatic disorders. He also treats patients suffering a lack of energy and vitality, low self-confidence, or who may be experiencing fatigue and/or insomnia. He has extensive experience working with patients presenting with cardiovascular problems caused by psychological disorders and stress symptoms, as well as those who have diabetes and hypertension.

All of the above can help reduce or eliminate fear and worry. The goal of his treatment is to improve patients’ homeostasis – or their equilibrium and stability – through creating positivity in their automatic thoughts while altering negative thought patterns. Patients can learn to balance their autonomic nervous system via activating both their sympathetic heart function (which governs arousal and getting fired up, like hitting your car’s gas pedal) and the parasympathetic branch of the heart (which slows you down and calms your system). Controlling the balance between these sympathetic and parasympathetic heart rhythms can result in greater mindfulness skills and better well-being.
